§ 01

As coverage expands, your payer contracts matter more.

State mandates and employer benefits continue to broaden fertility coverage. A more insurance-dependent payer mix makes every contract decision more consequential. What services are reimbursed, at what rates, under which arrangements, and with what ongoing oversight. Payers hold substantial information about their markets. Providers need better visibility to inform their own.

Before your next rate review
  1. How do our contracted rates compare with the market?
  2. Which services deserve attention in our next negotiation?
  3. What information should guide our payer strategy?
§ 02

Start with one payer. See where you stand.

A focused, no-cost review performed by our team. You share one payer fee schedule; we return a clear comparison against available fertility reimbursement benchmarks for your market.

  • i.A comparison of the rates in one payer fee schedule with available market benchmarks for comparable fertility services.
  • ii.A clear view of which analyzed rates sit below, near, or above those benchmarks.
  • iii.A concise summary of potential priorities for further contract review or negotiation.

How the benchmarks are built. Our benchmarks draw on insurers' publicly disclosed negotiated rates through Transparency in Coverage data. Comparisons depend on available data and comparable service and contract terms. Market benchmarks inform negotiations; they do not guarantee a particular reimbursement rate, and a below-market rate is not, on its own, an underpayment.

Portrait of Alexander Nadal
Founder & CEO

Alexander Nadal

Fourteen years across fertility innovation, healthcare commercialization, and health-system operations. He has led the advancement of innovative IVF technologies such as uterine lavage for egg and embryo collection, automated egg freezing, and metabolomic selection of embryos, and co-founded Butterfly Biosciences, which developed a visual embryo transfer technology. Most recently, he led venture and revenue-cycle initiatives at a billion-dollar health system.

Pomegranate was born out of a simple insight: if multi-billion-dollar health systems with large revenue-cycle teams struggle to manage the economics and cash flow of an insurance-dominated payer mix, how will independent fertility clinics manage without additional data, insights, and resources? That is what we're building at Pomegranate.
